NEPTUN Summer School 2026 – an international summer school focused on offshore wind energy

From 14 to 18 September 2026, Gdańsk University of Technology will host NEPTUN Summer School 2026 “Mechanics in Offshore Wind Energy”, organised by the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Ship Technology and the Offshore Wind Energy Center (CMEW).

The five-day Summer School will bring together young researchers and experts representing the international academic, research and industrial community.

The Offshore Wind Energy Centre at Gdańsk University of Technology invites PhD students to apply for the NEPTUN Summer School - Mechanics in Offshore Wind Energy, which will take place on 14-18 September 2026 in Gdańsk, Poland.

The Summer School offers a unique opportunity to expand knowledge in offshore wind energy, exchange experiences with researchers and industry experts, and establish new international collaborations.

May was an exceptionally active month for the Offshore Wind Energy Centre (OWEC) at Gdańsk University of Technology. Over the past few weeks, numerous meetings, study visits, and industry events took place, focusing on offshore wind workforce development, advanced diagnostic technologies, and international scientific and educational cooperation.

Scholarships for Smart Renewable Energy Engineering Students

Students of the Smart Renewable Energy Engineering programme will soon be able to apply for merit-based scholarships. The call for applications will be conducted in two rounds: the first will conclude in the fourth quarter of 2026, and the second in the fourth quarter of 2027.

Students may apply for a scholarship after completing the relevant semester: after the second semester for those admitted in the winter intake (four-semester programme), or after the first semester for those admitted in the summer intake (three-semester programme).

February 2026 Summary - Education, International Collaboration and Wind Energy Research Development

Summary
February was an intensive month for our team, marked by activities related to the development of modern education, international collaboration, and the implementation of research projects in the field of wind energy. During this time, we continued our work within international research and educational initiatives, further developed the study programme implemented under the DigiWind project, and carried out activities promoting projects funded by the European Union. The past month also demonstrated how important it is to combine academic education, collaboration with international partners, and the development of modern digital technologies supporting the renewable energy sector.

One of the most important events in February was the completion of the first semester of the Smart Renewable Energy Engineering master’s programme, implemented at Gdańsk University of Technology as part of the international DigiWind project.
